Cooling Down the Inner Fire
The summer heat is creeping in, and it's aggravating the Pitta dosha in everyone I talk to. You’re likely feeling more irritable or noticing your digestion is a bit off. It’s not just the weather; it’s the buildup of intensity that needs a steady hand.
Stop reaching for ice-cold water. It shocks your digestive fire and leaves you feeling sluggish. Instead, drink room temperature water infused with fresh mint or a few fennel seeds. It’s a simple fix, but it keeps your internal landscape balanced when the sun starts feeling personal.
Try eating more cooling foods like cucumber, coconut, and cilantro. Avoid the spicy peppers for a few weeks. If you find your mind racing too much at night, soak your feet in cool water before bed. It draws that excess heat out of your head.
We carry our past actions in our bodies, and heat usually brings that tension to the surface. Listen to what your physical symptoms are telling you about your current state. You don’t need to complicate your routine to feel better. Keep it grounded. Watch your rhythm, stay hydrated, and don't push yourself too hard while the mercury is rising.
