Finding Stillness in the Chaos of Navratri

Navratri is almost here, and I can already feel the shift in the air. It’s not just about the loud music or the dancing. It’s a time to turn inward.

We spend nine nights honoring the different forms of the Goddess. For me, it’s always been a period to look at my own patterns—the things I’ve carried from before that keep showing up in my current life. It’s hard work, but it’s necessary if you want to break old cycles.

I usually track the specific hours of the day using the Choghadiya to decide when to sit for my evening meditation. It keeps me grounded when the world feels like it’s spinning too fast.

Don’t try to do too much. Just pick one small habit to drop during these nine days. Whether it’s a specific food or a negative thought, give it up as an offering. You’ll be surprised at how much lighter you feel when the tenth day arrives.

We’re all just learning how to carry our pasts without letting them define our future. Take the time to be still this week. You’ve earned it.

Honestly, if your mind won't quiet down, just drink a glass of warm almond milk with a pinch of nutmeg before bed. It’s an Ayurvedic classic for grounding Vata energy, and you can check the VedKal app to find the perfect quiet hour for your routine.

If you're struggling with a restless mind, try chanting the "Om Namah Shivaya" mantra to stabilize your internal energy. It’s a simple way to soothe heavy planetary influences, and you can track the best times for this practice using the VedKal app.
