Finding Stillness While Mars Moves Through Cancer
It’s a heavy time right now. With the Moon and Mars both sitting in Cancer, I’ve been feeling the emotional turbulence alongside many of you. When Mars is this close to home in the sign of the crab, tempers flare and old family wounds tend to surface unexpectedly. It’s hard to keep your cool when everything feels so personal.
To manage this intensity, I’ve been recommending a simple Chandra-Mangala grounding practice. Since the Moon is currently in Pushya—a nurturing nakshatra—it’s the perfect time to anchor your energy. Try sitting in a quiet space and practicing Nadi Shodhana, or alternate nostril breathing. It doesn’t need to be complicated. Just five minutes of rhythmic breathing helps balance the solar heat of Mars with the cooling, lunar influence of Cancer.
While you breathe, focus on the mantra 'Om Namah Shivaya'. It’s incredibly effective for cooling the inner fires that Mars can ignite. Don’t push yourself too hard today. If you feel irritable, remember that it’s just the transit talking. Take a breath, drink some water, and give yourself grace. We’re all learning to handle these shifts one day at a time.
