Is exaltation overrated?
Looking at the current transit, we’ve got Jupiter moving through Cancer—its sign of exaltation. Everyone treats an exalted planet like a free pass to success, but let’s be real. It doesn't always work like that.
I’ve seen plenty of charts where an exalted Jupiter actually creates more stagnation than growth. It’s often too comfortable, too passive, or just prone to over-expansion without direction. When a planet is in its exaltation, it’s like a king who’s surrounded by yes-men. Sometimes, it’s the debilitated planet that actually has to grind and put in the work to get results.
Are we putting too much stock in signs and not enough in the nakshatra dispositor? Right now, Jupiter is in Pushya. That’s a heavy, duty-bound nakshatra. It changes the flavor of that exaltation entirely. If you're relying solely on dignity charts, you’re missing the timing.
I use Vyom to cross-reference these transit degrees against my personal dashas because these general interpretations fail when the timing isn't right. Does anyone else find that exaltation is more of a liability than an asset in practice? Let’s hear your take on it.
