Is your Dasha actually running on time?

We all obsess over the transit of Saturn or the placement of Rahu, but let's be real about the Vimshottari Dasha system. Most people assume the standard Dasha start time is locked in the moment they take their first breath. But what happens if we shift the focus to the actual moment of independent respiration or even the cutting of the cord?

I’ve spent years looking at charts where life events were off by months or even a year. When the Dasha timing doesn't sync with the major markers of a person’s life, it’s usually because the birth time is off by just a few minutes. It makes me wonder if we’re putting too much faith in the traditional Dasha start calculation without checking the finer logic of the Panchang.

Do you adjust your Dasha periods based on specific rectification techniques, or do you just trust the software? I’ve started using the Choghadiya features in the VedKal app to double-check my daily alignments, but it doesn’t fix a systemic error in the birth chart itself. If our Dasha calculation is slightly off, aren't we just analyzing the wrong period entirely? I'd love to hear how you handle these gaps when the math feels off.
