Why are we still obsessed with exaltation?

Look at the current sky. Jupiter is in Cancer, its exaltation point, while Mars is wrapping up its time in Aries. We’re constantly told that planets in exaltation are the 'heroes' of a chart and those in debilitation are the villains. I’ve always found this way too simplistic.

Doesn't it feel like we're ignoring the actual reality of human struggle? A planet in its highest state can easily lead to ego, stagnation, or simply too much of a good thing. Meanwhile, a 'fallen' planet often forces us to develop the grit that actually builds character.

If dharma is about our specific duties and the karmic work we're here to do, does a perfect planetary placement actually help? Or does it just make us lazy?

I’ve been tracking these transits on Vyom lately, and it’s striking how much growth happens during the uncomfortable periods, not the flashy ones. We spend so much energy trying to 'fix' these so-called weak placements. Maybe we should stop chasing the exaltation and start paying attention to the lessons hidden in our own friction.
