Staying Grounded Under the July Heat

Serene tabletop in warm summer light featuring slices of fresh watermelon — Staying Grounded Under the July Heat
Feeling irritable and burnt out this July? Learn how to balance peak Pitta dosha with simple cooling foods and evening routines to protect your peace. — Oracular

It’s late July and the Sun is sitting in Cancer, bringing a lot of heat and emotion to the surface. With Jupiter nearby, it’s a time when we feel things deeply, but we can easily burn out if we aren't careful.

Right now, Pitta dosha is at its peak. You might feel irritable or notice your digestion is a bit off. When the air is this thick, I find that cooling the body from the inside out is the best way to keep your dharma on track.

Cut back on the spicy peppers and fermented foods for a few weeks. Instead, lean into sweet, juicy fruits like watermelon or cooling cucumber salads. They’re excellent for keeping that internal fire from flaring up.

Don't skip your evening routine either. A quick foot massage with coconut oil before bed can work wonders for calming the nervous system. It’s a simple practice, but it helps settle the restlessness that this transit brings.

Stay hydrated, keep your cool, and remember that balance isn't something you find, it's something you create daily.
